There was an enormous shortage in the alcohol sector. Ethanol, isopropyl alcohol and n-propanol were partly no longer available. The European ethanol market has been in a state of emergency since the outbreak of the Corona crisis. The situation is expected to ease in the first half of 2021 at the earliest. Although the sharp rise in prices during the shortage has partially recovered, it does not seem to be over yet.
Distona AG has a broad portfolio in the alcohols sector, which allows us to continue to supply customers without interruption.
During the crisis we were able to help out various customers with deliveries of ethanol.
Ethanol from Distona is also suitable for use in biocide products in accordance with REGULATION (EU) No. 528/2012. The product types PT 1, PT 2 and PT 4 are supported. A distinction is made between bioethanol, which is produced from agricultural products, and synthetically produced ethanol, which is produced from crude oil and other substances.
Customer-specific denaturants as well as a different ethanol content round off the product range.
